Specifications and availability checked against Allye's range and model pages.* Allye's MEV range combines rapid EV charging with battery storage. It refills the stationary battery from a smaller supply over time, then draws on stored energy when a vehicle needs a faster charge. For a UK depot facing connection constraints, that changes the question from peak power alone to the energy needed across a day. It does not remove the site's energy requirement. ## Use model-specific ratings The manufacturer lists [MEV200](https://allye.com/products/mev200.html) at **200 kW** with **155 kWh** battery capacity, and [MEV300](https://allye.com/products/mev300.html) at **300 kW** with **232 kWh**. These are different models and different quantities. The [range page](https://allye.com/products/mev.html) describes repurposed EV packs and says deliveries are anticipated from **Q2 2027**. This is an announcement with a delivery expectation, rather than evidence from a deployed MEV fleet's long-term operation. ## How a smaller supply supports a short rapid charge The buffer stores energy before a vehicle arrives. During a session it can supply power above the site's incoming level. Afterwards, the supply needs time to replace that energy. This matters when vehicles return in a concentrated window. A battery that supports one rapid session cannot repeat maximum-rate sessions indefinitely. A useful design models arrivals, energy per vehicle and time between them. ## Build a daily energy budget Start with daily fleet demand and time at base. Add other site loads and conversion losses. Then compare the total with the energy the connection can provide during the refill window. Also check the actual vehicles. A charger's maximum does not mean every van can accept that rate, or maintain it throughout charging. Ask for a schedule based on the fleet, not just a peak-power demonstration. ## Second-life packs need clear support Ask how packs are selected and tested, and for usable capacity, warranty terms, maintenance and the plan for a failed or degraded pack. Do not infer those terms from the cells' origin. A repurposed pack forms part of a stationary system with its own controls, protection and installation requirements. The contract should explain responsibility for the complete installation. ## What the quotation should include Request a site-specific throughput and refill calculation, required electrical works, simultaneous charging limits, warranty and pack-replacement assumptions, plus delivery terms. Optional grid services need their own conditions and network approval. Compare a battery buffer with managed slower charging and other practical options using the same fleet schedule. Keep projected savings separate from performance demonstrated on a comparable site.
