What the main Octopus export tariffs pay
Outgoing Octopus: 12p/kWh flat from 1 March 2026, for Octopus electricity customers with a half-hourly export smart meter. Prime Outgoing: 16p/kWh from 4pm to 7pm and 9p at other times. Octopus Smart Export Guarantee: 4.1p/kWh for MCS or Flexi-Orb systems even if you buy electricity elsewhere. Agile Outgoing follows half-hourly wholesale prices. Standard Octopus Flux is still open to new customers. Intelligent Octopus Flux is paused for most people and listed as exclusive to customers who bought solar and a battery from Octopus (Octopus, checked 26 October 2026). Other suppliers publish different SEG rates. Read the supplier page before you switch.
What the 15p to 12p cut means
A 4 kWp array that exports about 1,200 kWh a year would have earned about 180 pounds at 15p and about 144 pounds at 12p. Self-consumed units still displace import, which is usually worth more than export. We no longer use up to 15p/kWh on offer pages.

Standard Octopus Flux is still listed as open. Intelligent Octopus Flux is restricted: Octopus marks it temporarily unavailable, and exclusive to customers who bought solar and a battery from Octopus.
